A warm welcome

For those of you that have been following my work on Facebook, I would first of all like to thank you for your continued support over the years.

I started my business with a vision... a self adhesive temporary wallpaper that could liven up those bare and sad looking apartment walls. You know what I'm talking about, right? Most of the apartments here lack a certain degree of 'personality'. Many of us try to make it 'our own' for the time that we've been given to live in this amazing wondrous place. But we are subjected to landlords' restrictions and do not want to spend too much money on 'temporary' housing. Let's just say that wallpapering isn't the first thing to spring to mind.

I dove into it with all my heart, a vision and a fair bit of naivety! I didn't know much other then my own research about wallpapering, manufacturing or printing...well, I can tell you that I was climbing Mount Everest and it was a period of trial and error. I was keen to launch and I received very positive feedback & vibes from the HK community. I answered all their questions.. no it's not permanent, no it doesn't require glue, yes you can easily remove it and yes it's a DIY job etc.

What I didn't foresee is that the canvas material with adhesive backing - which btw gives the most natural and beautiful finish - is a perishable and very fragile product, prone to printing and handling faults. The high humidity and the generally poor quality & finish of walls in rentals are the biggest obstacles . Let me stop here and tell you that I'm not giving up on my wallpapering dream just yet, but let's just say I've put it on hold until I find a new wave of energy to try again..

Another vision that I am still passionate about, is to work with local and overseas and independent designers & illustrators who create these marvellous 'works of wonder'. You can read about them in the 'featured artist' column.

My original designs were meant to go on a wall but are now printed on cushions and other fabrics. The sky is the limit after all! I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by a supportive community and I thank you for your patience and support.

Even though wallpaper was my initial vision for the company, I've established Works of Wonders as a platform to offer fun and creative products. Besides my own 'wow' collection, I've been sourcing the globe for other products. Some with unique craftsmanship, others with unique elements.

I'm very excited to give you a first glimpse into the world of wonders.
